Little Caesars Pizza Bowl

There are plenty of names out there for the 2009 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. Some just call it the Little Caesar Bowl, some use the full name and some still use the old title when it was (until 2009) the Motor City Bowl. But no matter which name/title you use for this exciting college football bowl game in the post-season, it will be played at the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. With a Saturday, December 26, 2009 1pm (local time) kick-off, the MAC East Champion Ohio University Bobcats will take on the Marshall University Thundering Herd in what everyone expects to be a super exciting game, which also posts as the first meeting of these traditional rivals since 2004.

The game was jointly sponsored by the "Big Three" automakers in Detroit from 1998 to 2007 (Ford, General Motors and Chrysler). Starting with the 2008 game, Chrysler was replaced by the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights as a presenting sponsor, before in 2009 Little Caesars PizzaŽ, which also celebrates its 50th birthday in 2009, took over the title sponsorship for this college football bowl game after General Motors and Chrysler reorganized under bankruptcy protection. Ford remained as a sponsor.

A few little details about Ford Field:
